  Dave received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Marquette University in 1990 and then went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and Biomechanics from the University of Northern Colorado in 1996.

  Dave has taken extensive post-graduate course work to advance his manual therapy skills and specializes in Manual Therapy Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine and Arthritis Disorders.

  Dave possesses three specialty certifications: Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS), Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

  Dave has been the Physical Therapist for the Milwaukee Admirals and continues to work with high school collegiate and weekend athletes. He is now on the Arthritis Foundation Leadership Board for the Upper Midwest Region and supports the Milwaukee Branch by being a strong advocate through volunteerism.

  He enjoys being involved in scouting (Cub Master-Pack 574) and loves coaching the sport teams in which his two children Nolen and Alyssa participate. He enjoys Exercising, Country Music, Hunting and Exploring the Great Outdoors.

  PT, Aquatic Therapy Coordinator

  Julie has received her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1989. She has been a practicing therapist for 25 years, starting in Colorado and now Wisconsin. Julie has had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings including post-surgical rehabilitation, out-patient orthopedics, and aquatic physical therapy.

  Julie has participated in extensive continuing education with manual therapy focusing on sports and joint retraining. She assists in meeting clients goals with both convential and holistic treatment approaches. She has treated a wide variety of diagnosis from orthopedic joint disorders to a variety of DJD and neurological conditions.

  Julie oversees the Aquatic Physical Therapy program at our New Berlin location within The Princeton Club. Aquatic Physical Therapy is a valuable treatment option for those de-conditioned individuals suffering from joint disorders, degenerative changes, and/or chronic pain conditions that make it more difficult to tolerate a traditional physical therapy approach.

  When Julie isn’t at PROCare, she is making the most of her family time with her two children, Nolan and Alyssa, and the family’s loveable golden doodle named Vinny.

  Paul graduated from the University of WI-Madison in 1980 with his degree in physical therapy. He has an extensive background in orthopedic and sports medicine rehabilitation and has had the privilege to work with numerous professional and Olympic caliber athletes.

  His has trained in both manual therapy and therapeutic exercise. Paul has taught manual therapy courses to PT’s throughout the country and has served as a clinical mentor locally. He received the Mary Pat Murray award for clinical excellence for his work with ACL rehabilitation. His focus as a PT is on helping the client heal and return back to optimal function.

  In addition to being a skilled PT for PROCare, Paul also serves as PROCare’s Clinical Manager. In this role, he works to help the PROCare staff strive for excellence and have some fun! He knows that in order to be the PT provider of choice, PROCare has to do a great job in helping their clients and build a loyal community.

  When not working, Paul stays busy with lots of family stuff (4 daughters!), biking, skiing, his faith, and leadership development with a focus on helping dads.

  Valentino received his Physical Therapy Assistant degree from the Milwaukee Area Technical College. He also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Valentino decided to pursue a degree in physical therapy because of his interest in human kinesiology as well as to help people return to a pain free, and healthy lifestyle. In his free time, Valentino enjoys spending time with his wife and son, reading, exercising and having dinners with his family and friends.

  Heidi Barufkin, PTA

  Physical Therapy Assistant

  Heidi has worked as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for over a decade. In 2001, she received her Physical Therapy Assistant degree from the University of Indianapolis. She also has a Respiratory degree and a Phlebotomy certificate.

  Heidi believes in ongoing medical education and has supplemented her university education with extensive training in Kineso Tapping, Women’s Health, Aquatic Therapy and Sports Injury treatments.

  A profound experience inspired Heidi to become a PTA. Her aunt was bedridden for months and unable to walk. For several weeks, Heidi worked with a PT to treat her aunt, whom regained the strength to walk again. To this day Heidi approaches physical therapy the same way she first witnessed with her aunt. She believes each patient is unique and customizes treatment to their particular situation. Additionally, she believes in educating people about self-care and empowering them to continue strengthening and exercising on their own.

  Prior to moving to Wisconsin in 2011, Heidi worked in the Chicago area. She grew-up in Chicago and northwest Indiana, is married and has two young boys. Heidi practices what she teaches and lives an active lifestyle. In addition to enjoying snowboarding, wake boarding, rock climbing, dancing, cooking and kite boarding, she has completed a half-marathon.

  Cecilia received her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training at Marquette University. She works at the New Berlin clinic, assisting the physical therapists with both land and aquatic therapies. Cecilia’s favorite part about her job is working in the pool and interacting with our wide variety of patients.   As our Patient Service Specialist for New Berlin, Vanessa strives to help our patients meet their therapy goals. She assists our patients with the scheduling of appointments and takes care of insurance authorizations. On her time off she spends it with her children staying busy with a toddler. Not to mention has a very busy daughter who stays active in Girl Scouts to playing the sport of season on top of dance practice and recitals. Away from the kids she enjoys finding new things to do with her husband but loves watching movies and relaxing since she is always on the go.
